Should I look at building a new home? What are the advantages?
You are going to pay less for a brand new home with better products then a used home.
You know what you are getting, and the products are higher quality then in existing homes. We buy high end products at better prices direct; since we own most of the distribution & installation companies you get the value and pay less.
You don’t get someone else’s problems and the products they picked to save money.
Today a new home is not complex to build; it is easy and generally takes around 90-120 days.
It’s new and has a warranty, with some products having up to 20 year warranties, you are protected.
Your new home has instant equity, which you will not have in an existing home.

We have heard this so many times. Use a Programmable Thermostat. This can save you 33% on your Heating and cooling cost.
Switch to incandescent light bulbs. They consume 75% less energy than a standard bulb. The truth is they cost more however they tend to last longer. They have also come out with some more eye friendly designs other than the typical spiral ones. They are now available for can lights, Bathrooms, and chandeliers.
Energy Star rated appliances use 10 to 50 % less energy that none rated or low rated ones. This can save the average household over $300.00 per year. Dishwashers and washing machines have come along way with this technology.

Heating systems are efficient if the correct filter is used. Sometimes cheaper is not better. Some people tend to use the very inexpensive fiberglass filters in their units. If you switch your filter to an electrostatic filter, you will reduce you indoor air pollutants to 97% efficiency. Forget the negativity about the housing market. It’s about you. Your home is a castle and an investment. Do you buy a home based on what your friends may think? No, you buy a home with what you want in it at the price you can afford to pay. Hang on to your britches everyone. New Homes are still a smart investment! There are tax incentives, so why throw away money on rent. Interest rates are at an all time low! Wake up, now is your chance! You do not have to buy existing residential “someone else’s problem”. Look at brand new construction and you will be happy you did 5 years from now. Here are some tips to guide you along. Stay Tuned for more news you can use..
- Start you search on the internet for local builders.
- Look for Model homes you can visit. Does the sales rep. offer to show you other examples of their work on a moments notice? Beware if they do not.
- Look for quality workmanship. One builder may be higher than another. Buyers beware, “you get what you pay for”.
- Beware of Production Builders if they build 4 of the same house plan in the same neighborhood. Guess what? You just purchased a “cookie cutter home “
- Can the plan you have in mind be changed. Look for a builder who uses the term “custom”. Anyone can change a closet or kitchen layout. Custom means anything, including the roof and the floor structure.
- Beware of someone who tells you “let me see the other builder’s price”. Guess what? You just fell for it. You will get what you want but that means its added back into the price or they are cutting corners in other areas.
- Last but not least, look for someone who is willing to answer your questions and spend time with you.
- Happy house hunting. I hope to see you soon.
